Community Services

Turtle Point Science Center is a community resource available to  you and your family any time we are open - even if we have a scheduled class! You are welcome to drop by and explore our gardens, boardwalk and interpretive center during normal business hours - 8 am until 3 pm Monday through Friday when Escambia County, Alabama schools are in session. There is no charge for you to come visit, but donations are always welcome.

Our interpretive center is home to dozens of native and exotic animals, fabulous exhibits - from taxidermy, to bones, to fossils, and our unique gift shop.  The grounds of Turtle Point are filled with impressive native plant and pollinator gardens, ponds, animals, a butterfly house, a rock garden, and a magnificent boardwalk through the wetlands.  Our boardwalk is 2 kilometers round trip and leads visitors along a fern-filled forest to amazing views of a wetland pond and Big Escambia Creek. Please come explore!

If this self-guided exploration is not what you are looking for, please call our office (251) 296-3401 to schedule a tour for your group.
